Cornerstone
2010. Watercolor paper Montval Canson, watercolor, 69 x 45 cm without mat. Mat 85 x 65 cm is necessary. Mat dimensions can be adjusted according to interior needs. Paper, before painting, is glued to cardboard. This enhances the painting process. The paper must withstand many cycles of wetting and drying. The exhibited painting does not require framing under glass.
The painting is a conversation with a personal God, belief in His powerful response through the Holy Spirit, and the ability to find life's bearings. It's a painting about God's action in humanity. The rushing river of humanity narrows, spreads out, considers convenient directions of lows. The God of the Bible and the New Testament gives humans the opportunity to choose their life direction individually. People separate from the crowd, then gather again into groups, influenced not only by external but also internal guides. Thus, in the painting, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are depicted, while God the Father, somewhere in the blue clouds, is not realistically portrayed but exists as a guide for the natural, elemental flow of humanity.
